On Tuesday Night, Grammy award-winning group Ozomatli kicked off the Opening Celebration along with special guests and local favorite from Austin, The Band of Heathens at NAFSA’s 2012 Annual Conference & Expo. Their performance took place on the Discovery Green in downtown Houston. As cultural ambassadors of the U.S. State Department, Ozomatli and its musical mix of jazz, funk, and Latin/Caribbean styles is a favorite of international audiences.
