“It is physically impossible to go faster or do better than your strategic relationships.” That’s the one key concept Michael Webb, founder and CEO of Michael Moto, LLC, an international organization with headquarters in Denver and Tokyo, wanted participants to remember from his special session on Developing Global Strategic Relationships held Thursday afternoon during NAFSA’s annual conference.
Webb, who lead the original venture between Toyota and General Motors and oversaw the launch of the Boeing 777, walked the audience through a diagram on “working together,” which is composed of equal parts roadmap, values, decisionmaking, and conflict resolution.
“Communication is the most important element and common denominator,” Webb said.

Wow, Web’s concept of developing global strategic relationships sounds like a great strategy for forming alliances with people where ever they may be in the world and establishing viable communications protocols with them.
I am reading a book entitled Global Issues, and Adult Education by Sharan B. Merriam, et al (2006) and have come to realize that the insight shared are wonderful tools for adults who are learning to see the world from different perspectives. And as an adult educator, I have begun to take on the responsibility of allowing people to be who they are, accepting their traditions and values with the intent of expanding my knowledge base so that I can see the world through new eyes.
Keep us posted on Michael Webb’s world travels and interactions. He sounds like someone we should know.
