After living overseas for almost 20 years, and now being in the computer business, and raising 3 daughters that appreciate the culture that varies from country to county (and understanding it too), my one daughter is about to graduate from Ohio State with a masters in education. After coming across this NAFSA site and seeing this article about Dr. Stanger and her new book...I am going to get it, along with a membership for her when she graduates.

I think that living, doing, and educating in a foreign country which is what Kate will be doing, she will appreciate the relationship that the government has with the private sector, and the outsourced contractors that the gov't uses. Having a complete understanding of this specific relationship will be key to her advancement once she returns and gets into the policy aspect of international education that she is interested in.

And kudos to Dr. Stanger for getting recognition and an award for her book from The International Political Science Association's Research Committee on the Structure of Governance! Nice work...and I think I will read the book before Kate gets it!!
